Superbagnères, Luchon: altitude 1440-2260 metres; 23 pistes.
Peyragudes: altitude 1600-2400 metres; 39 pistes.
Le Mourtis: altitude 1350-1860 metres; 22 downhill pistes, plus 45 kilometres of ski du fond.
Local walking
Paths from the house lead directly up into the mountains, with a public footpath only 100 metres away, leading to the GR10 which runs along the whole length of the Pyrenees. The lovely Val d'Aran is just over the Spanish border.

The area
St Béat is an attractive village with shops, Tourist Information Centre, swimming pool and tennis courts. The river Garonne flows through the village. Bagnères de Luchon is a major spa town with all amenities, and is a popular destination for tourists, considered one of the most stylish towns in the Pyrenees. St Gaudens is the major town north of St Béat, with all major supermarkets, etc. St Bertrand de Comminges is a delightful medieval village of historic interest, situated between St Gaudens and St Béat.
